In the Golden Age of Ancient Greece a very small population produced a disproportionately large number of individuals who are recognized today as people of great genius.  Why so many from so few?  We think that it was because of the structure and evolving nature of their language, and this means that we could do it again.  We can all raise the level of our thinking abilities through the use of an appropriate evolving language (and this does not mean going back and trying to learn Ancient Greek).

Our existing languages have many weaknesses.  They do not have rational structures and procedures for use.  They are full of ambiguities; two different words which mean slightly different things being used interchangeably; different words which sound alike and are spelled the same but which mean different things; imprecise words; confusing words; words of uncertain meaning.  All of these things can lead to mistakes in thinking and communication, and they cause many of the problems we face.

We further believe that the solution to this situation is ODODU, an Evolving Derivational Language; a language which is constructed so that it reflects the universe itself; a language which is precise in both its generality and specificity; which can be subsumed within other languages and thereby facilitate global communication.

ODODU is simple in concept and easy to learn and use.  It is created through the incorporation of universal concepts and emotions into letters.  A rational process is used for the construction of words whose meaning can be derived from the meanings and placement of their constituent letters.  There is a specific procedure whereby adding additional letters to existing words creates new words whose meaning is related to, but more specific than, the original word.  Finally the language has a rational grammar for combining words into sentences to represent ideas, emotions, actions, things, the universe.

Because ODODU is an evolving language it is formally structured to continually change.  Thus its use will be an ongoing process of thinking about what we mean and what we say.  This may be initially uncomfortable for most of us, who are used to language not changing or changing very slowly, but it is fundamental to the power of ODODU.

It also means that the presentation of ODODU will itself also change.  It will never be finished but will stay a work in progress.  The number of words defined in the dictionaries will grow as words with more letters and hence more specificity are added.  Because the meanings of all of the words are derivationally connected, anytime new words are added there may also be an adjustment or redefinition of previously derived words.  This will tend to steadily increase the power and sophistication of the language.

As each of us learns and uses ODODU our own ability to think and understand will increase and this will parallel the evolution of the language itself.  We and the language will grow together and consequently our organizations, societies, and cultures will evolve as well.  This is the real evolution, the evolution of ideas and understanding, the evolution of thinking.
